Tarry Ahuja, PhD (Neuroscience) is the inaugural Director of the Post-Market Drug Evaluation Program at Canada’s Drug Agency (CDA-AMC) and the architect of CoLab, a pan-Canadian real-world evidence network. He has over 20 years of experience across health technology assessment, clinical research, and hospital-based practice, and has authored 50+ peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Ahuja is also a long-standing lecturer at Carleton University and holds a PhD in Neuroscience with specialization in electrophysiology and pharmacology.
Wednesday, February 18, 2026Canada’s drug review system is evolving, and this session will offer a practical look at how CDA-AMC is connecting the dots across the full drug lifecycle. From early scientific advice and pharmaceutical review to reassessment, formulary management, and post-market evaluation, the goal is a more coordinated and predictable approach to evidence and decision-making. A key focus will be the creation of the Post-Market Drug Evaluation (PMDE) program and the CoLab network, which are changing how post-market evidence is generated and used. The session will also discuss how CDA-AMC is strengthening and modernizing engagement with industry to better align evidence development with regulatory and reimbursement needs. Attendees will gain insight into how these changes support clearer expectations, better use of real-world evidence, and more informed decisions over time.
